- Digging the tree using either the 55” or 90” tree spade OR preparing the ball and burlaped tree
- Planting directly from the field to the site
- Mulching around the tree to retain moisture
The timely transplanting from our farm to your site ensures minimal root disturbance, and results in healthy growth.
INSTALLATION OPTIONS
Give us a call to see if your site is suitable for tree spade installation. We’ll visit the site and make recommendations for transplantation. If the site does not allow for tree spade access we can provide ball & burlap installation. For trees over 25' we have worked with a Texas company for installation.
1. Tree spade installation, 55 inch or 90 inch
The tree spade allows you to start with a larger and more mature tree than with hand-planting. A typical 3 caliper hand-planted maple has an 800 lb. root ball. The same size tree moved with our tree spade weighs about 2800 lbs. The difference in root mass enables the tree to establish quickly and survive in tough conditions.
